All fares are now paid via the Travel2School App which is available to download to parents mobile phone free of charge. About the Travel2School App
Known as Queensland School Ticketing, the Travel2School App lets you manage smartcards that are required for eligible School Transport Assistance Scheme passengers and farepayers travelling on school buses.
Parents and carers can use this app for:
Downloading the Travel2School App
The Travel2School App is only available for iOS or Android. There are currently no plans to make the app available for other devices or operating systems. The Travel2School App is available for download at any time on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
The setup of the Travel2School App is easy and intuitive. You may find the Quick Reference Guide Travel2School App helpful to provide more information but essentially your tasks are:
If you stay signed into the app you have easy access to its features. If you choose to sign out, please remember your username and password. The login process is easy if you remember your username and password (logging into the app).
Supporting your child with their smartcard
Please talk to your child about this being a new responsibility for them to look after their smartcard. They might like to keep it in a wallet, a special pocket of their school bag, or maybe a lanyard might help.
They will need to remember this smartcard every time they travel. They will be learning to tap on at the start of every journey and tap off when they get to their destination. For some children the time travelling on the bus is the time that they ‘lose their card’. A reminder from you to keep hold of it or pop it in that special pocket whilst they travel will help.
Our drivers will be supporting children to learn these new travel behaviours also.
Misplaced and lost smartcards
A misplaced, or temporarily forgotten smartcard, can be easily managed by our driver. Not something we want to support every trip but we can look your child up on our onboard system and register their travel manually. This does take a little time to do this and if done regularly will affect our on time running, so let’s work together to help children remember their smartcard every day.
A lost smartcard will need to be replaced by chatting to the driver or contacting the Karrabee Office by text on 0438 843195 and will also require parents and guardians to manage setting your smartcard accounts again. Lost cards attract a fee of $10 which is charged to the card account so that payment can be made. The driver can accept payment in cash if preferred.
Thank you for those of you who are using QST for the first time….welcome

From 5 October 2021 changes were made to the delivery of school transport services in the Mary Valley area to better reflect Education Department Catchment areas.
The education catchment area for Mary Valley State College for Year 7 to 10 students includes areas north of Imbil and ends between Amamoor and Dagun. School Transport arrangements have been amended to support these changes for travel to Mary Valley State College.
Travel arrangements to Gympie will continue for students in Years 7 to 10 who were School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS) registered on these services prior to 5 October 2021 provided there is no change to personal details such as address, or school attended. This arrangement does not extend to siblings.
Travel to Gympie schools for students (Years 7 to 10) not STAS registered prior to 5 October 2021 will be by arrangement with the bus operator on a fare paying basis.
All Mary Valley students who attend Year 11 and 12 will continue to be eligible for free travel to the Gympie State High School.
